Get to Know: 
Ian Lai

With over two decades of experience in branding, advertising, and design, Ian began his career after graduating in 1998 and went on to co-found a successful branding consultancy in 2003. He worked with major brands like Nestlé, Nescafé, Maggi, Edwin Jeans and more. However, in 2009, he faced a major setback — losing his income, clients, and confidence. During this low point, a simple shift in perspective turned “Impossible” into “I’m Possible” igniting his journey to rebuild.

In 2010, Ian launched Brandtalks, which quickly expanded across Malaysia and into countries like Singapore, Indonesia, and Taiwan. Now a sought-after branding coach and trainer, he’s worked with clients such as Lazada, UOB, Prudential, Crocs, Manulife, Baker Tilly, and many more. Featured on Astro AEC and SME Great Helper, Ian is passionate about helping entrepreneurs stand out and succeed through strategic branding.
