In addition to her practice, Melissa is passionate about helping to drive the tech start-up sector here in Malaysia and has assisted and mentored Malaysian tech start-ups on a myriad of pertinent legal issues and considerations. Melissa has also organised dedicated SME Table Talk sessions to help such businesses to better understand the often complex regulatory and commercial framework. Having formerly served as the co-founder of Law Tech Malaysia, Melissa has also played an active role in promoting the adoption of technology in the legal sector as a means to help firms grow and better serve clients. During her tenure with Law Tech Malaysia, she successfully organised the nation’s first legal tech hackathon and also represented Malaysia in the InnoTech Law Hub Community Roundtable held in Hong Kong. Melissa’s previous experience also includes working at a leading Malaysian based technology and telecommunications corporation as well as several prominent legal firms based in Kuala Lumpur.
